No Longer Bound!

The ropes of death were wrapped around me, and the torments of Sheol overcame me; I encountered trouble and sorrow. Then I called on the name of Yahweh: “Yahweh, save me!” Psalm 116:3-4 (HCSB) “I am free praise the Lord I am free. I am no longer bound, no more chains holding me, my soul is resting, it’s such a blessing, praise the Lord, hallelujah!!! I am free!!!”

Many of us can attest to the fact that before we knew Jesus Christ we couldn’t sing this song. Our eyes were filled with water day and night—our inside was ripped apart into pieces because of the fruit of the flesh that was spreading on the inside, and eventually—it caused us to look dim on the outside. We walked around living, but was more like; a living dead. Sin stripped us from everything that God created us to be, but God had a master plan and that was, to set humanity free. The scripture declares: “For God loved the world in this way: He gave His One and Only Son, so that everyone who believes in Him will not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send His Son into the world that He might condemn the world, but that the world might be saved through Him. John 3:16-17 (HCSB)

You want to know the sad truth?

The sad truth is: Many of us are still living as if we are bound. What do you mean? You may ask. What I am implying to you is this: Many of us still cannot accept the truth that we are free to be all that God formed us to be. Why are you still walking around with condemnation and guilt attached to your life? Through Jesus Christ we have been set free—His blood paid it all on Calvary. Would you choose to accept the love of God today and be free? It is time for you to live as if sin has no power over you.

Did you know you have been bought with a price? The scripture declares: Don’t you know that your body is a sanctuary of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought at a price. Therefore glorify God in your body. 1 Corinthians 6:20 (HCSB) Not only did Jesus set us free from sin—but He also set us free from mental slavery, poverty, sorrow, generational curses etc, which we will be touching on as we continue this month series called “Set Free”.
